7530 - Automatic Reflex Conditioner (Active Avoida

The 7530 Automatic Reflex Conditioner (Active Avoidance Shuttle Box) enables to perform the full range of Classic Pavlovian Conditioning experiments. The compact control unit incorporates scrambler shocker, internal memory, embedded printer and software connection. The sturdy perspex boxes use tilting floor as movement detection method and are available for mice or rats.

The 7530 consists of a control unit (7531) and a Box divided into two sections by a partition with an intercommunicating door at floor level.

Many different protocols can be run with the 7530 Automatic Reflex Conditioner:

- The classic Shuttle Box Test with shock delivered with or without the presence of the Conditioning Stimulus.

- The Timing Experiment, in which the animal always gets the shock until it crosses, one or more time, as pre-set. This is a useful schedule, which allows the operator to condition the animal in a short time, before passing to the classic Shuttle-Box Test.

- The Crossing Test, which is in practice a Shuttle-Box experiment, the difference being that the animal has to cross more than once (as pre-set) to stop the trial.

- The Conflict Test in which the animal always gets the shock for the pre-set duration, even if it crosses several times.
